D-Link's DGS-712 SFP transceivers are compliant with the Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and Gigabit Ethernet 1000Base-T as specified in IEEE 802.3ab. The transceivers provide link in the full duplex mode and extend link distances up to 100 m. The DGS-712 1000Base-T copper SFP transceiver plugs into an SFP slot, it provides Gigabit transmission on the common Category 5 twisted-pair network cable. DGS-712 has a metal housing and is hot-pluggable. This permits modules to be added or removed without interrupting the network.
